When I was 11 years old, I lived one of the most gratifying experiences: It all started with my aunt Montse, who, through an NGO she collaborates with, took in two Sahrawi children: Mohamed and Handi.
So it was in the summer of 2002 that I met them both.
That same summer, after returning to their families, my aunt suggested that I travel for a week in December to the Sahrawi camps.
I accepted.
There I spent time with Mohamed, Handi, relatives and neighbours, and at the same time I got to know different parts of their geography.
The years have gone by and I have not stopped remembering that experience.
I have been growing up and taking as a reference, as well as comparing myself, with a way of life that I was completely unfamiliar with and that at the age of 11 turned out to be a great cultural shock.
My idea is to document a second trip 12 years later in search of Mohamed, Handi and their families.
